Pre- Departure Orientation in NYC

When I got to NYC, I went to the designated AFS student place. There were about 10 of us.  7 of us were going to Italy, 2 to portugal, and 1 to Nigeria.  It was cool to see all of the other people who were in the same situation as me.  So we drove to the hotel that we would be staying at, and when we got there, we met all of the other kids.  There were 58 kids going to Italy, 6 to portugal and I think 3 to Nigeria.  We would be staying only 1 night at the hotel, because the next night we would fly to Zurich.  That night we had orientation and then we just hung out in our rooms.  I met some of the most amazing people in the world at this camp, and they will be my friends for a long time.

From the left to the right are the first people that I met from America.  On the far left is George. Then Maria, and then Karen and then me.  After the first night, we woke up the next morning and had orientation all day.  Then, late that night we went to the airport and flew to Zurich, I think at about 11 PM.  We got on the plane, and left America.
